Speaking Your Truth

Finally finished....Here's my Chapter 6 Project from Kelly Rae Robert's Taking Flight book...

We worked with two new art techniques with this project - gold leaf and molding paste. I really liked the molding paste :) Last night, I went over to Nikki's house for our final art night together - the nerve of you, girl, to move away from me, and leave me without a real live art friend! We worked on the FINAL project in the book, but you'll have to wait for photos since I still have some touch ups to do. Way to go Nikki! We made it through the ENTIRE book!! I can honestly say that I couldn't have done it without you!!

Now that we're done with the Kelly Rae book (!!!) I'll be focusing on my clay for the rest of the summer. Stay tuned!

Till next time,

A bird in the hand...

...is the most wonderful way to start the morning!

This morning, when I took a peek in the hanging basket, there was only one baby wren left in the nest. I could hear the other four in our crab apple tree, and I could see "Daddy Wren" in a nearby branch keeping an eye on his last little one (since the basket is directly under my morning coffee spot, he's used to seeing me there).

I took the basket down and put it on the ground, thinking the little one would hop out and join his siblings. After a few minutes, I gently lifted him out of the basket and placed him in my hand. He was sooooo beautiful!! Talk about joy and creating! I think this little fellow has cornered the market for the day!

Have fun taking flight, little one!!

Little Clay Houses

...for you and me :)

Of course, you're probably wondering why I'm making little clay houses. Well, you never know when these little babies will be looking for a new home!!

I found these 5 baby house wrens in our hanging basket last week. Too cute!!

I can't believe how fast they're growing!

What a blessing to be able to watch these little miracles grow up! As soon as the rain stops, I'll post some more pictures!

Till then,
