The Beautiful Bean

I always wonder what it is that attracts so many people to "The Bean" in Chicago's Millenium Park. For me, part of the attraction is the joy of taking a photo of it! I think I prefer to concentrate on seeing the detail in a "small" photo, rather than seeing the whole entire Bean when I visit. Maybe seeing it up close is too much information for me to take in!

I was just getting ready to take this next photo, when I heard some skate boarders coming up on my left. So I waited until I sensed they were getting closer, and attempted to get a photo with at least one of them. Success! I love this photo!


This next one was a slightly different angle, and zoomed in a bit. I love the colors of the sky in this photo. It was just a few minutes before the sun set. I'm not sure which of my three photos here I like best!

Ready for Glazing...

Good thing it's another snow day! I have my work cut out for me glazing these sweet fellows! Once their finished, they'll be taking a trip up to Lake Geneva, WI where they'll be waiting for you at the Roycetra shop!

I call them Prayer Partners, and they are based on Asian Jizos. They are a thoughtful gift for someone who might be going through a difficult time. I like knowing that my ceramic pieces are bringing some comfort into the world!

Snow Day!

The joy of a snow day! It looks like the worst of the 2011 blizzard is over for our neck of the woods. From a brief driving experience, I know it was pretty nasty out last night, so I hope that all of you stayed safe and warm!

I think I'll take a walk with my camera later on to take more photos (I cheated with this one and just stuck my arm out the door!). Share some of your snow day images with me!
